Real support, not clinical coldness
This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up just as you are—messy bits and all.
I’m Graham, a counsellor, hypnotherapist and founder of Brave Journeys. I help children, teenagers, parents and adults understand what’s going on beneath the anxiety, overwhelm, overthinking or feeling of being stuck, and find a way forward that feels right for them. There’s nothing fancy or overly clinical about what I do. Just real conversations, practical support and a safe, down-to-earth space where you can be yourself.
Brave Journeys offers counselling, hypnotherapy, life coaching and guided online support. You can work with me face-to-face from my practice in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, or online, wherever life happens to have taken you. Whether you’re a parent watching your child struggle with anxiety or school, a teenager who feels nobody quite understands, an adult whose mind simply won’t switch off, or you’re living away from home and would value support from someone who speaks your language and understands where you’ve come from — you’re welcome here.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be brave enough to take the next step.

The weight builds quietly
Without the right support, emotions can feel heavier over time—leaving you feeling drained, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward and probably walking on eggshells at home or at work.
It affects more than just you
Stress, anxiety or emotional strain can impact relationships, work, and even your ability to rest and recharge. With Children especially it can cause school refusal and never ending battles at home
It’s hard to speak up when you don’t feel safe
Too many people stay silent because therapy feels clinical, overwhelming or out of reach.
You don’t have to carry it alone
With the right support, things can feel lighter. There’s space to breathe, talk things through, and feel like yourself again—one step at a time.
The Brave Journeys Access for All Fund is dedicated to making mental health support more accessible by providing financial assistance for counseling services.
By offering funding to individuals who may not otherwise be able to afford therapy, the fund helps remove barriers to seeking professional help. This initiative allows more people to access vital counseling sessions, empowering them to improve their mental health and well-being.

Real support, not clinical coldness
This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up just as you are—messy bits and all.
Someone who really gets it
You’ll work with someone who brings both lived experience and professional training.
In-person or online
In-person, online, or phone sessions—whatever works best for you.
All services are available both in-person (North East Scotland) and online, so you can get the support you need—wherever you are.
I know what it’s like when life feels heavy. The battles nobody else sees, the overthinking, the uncertainty and those times when you know something needs to change but you’ve absolutely no idea where to start.
I don’t come at therapy as some distant expert who has life all figured out. I haven’t. I bring my professional experience, but I also bring my own lived experience of life being difficult, complicated, brilliant, painful and sometimes pretty messy.
That’s a big part of how I work.
I’m not a fancy therapist. I’m just a Graham.
I’ll walk alongside you, not in front of you telling you where to go, and not behind you waiting for you to work it all out yourself. We’ll figure things out together, at your pace and in a way that works for you.
Over the years I’ve supported children, teenagers, adults, parents and families through anxiety, overwhelm, loss, school struggles, low confidence, overthinking and those periods of life when everything just feels a bit too much.
Sometimes that support happens face-to-face in my office in Ellon. Increasingly, it happens online, allowing me to work with people wherever life happens to have taken them.
You don’t need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch. You don’t need the right words and you certainly don’t need to have everything figured out.
We can start with a conversation.
A chance to talk about what’s happening, what you’d like to be different and whether I might be the right person to walk alongside you or your child.
Sometimes the first brave step really is just having someone there when you take it.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just take one small step — I’ll walk with you from there.

We’ll gently explore what’s going on for you and what kind of support feels right. No pressure, no judgement — just a calm, compassionate space to be real.
Together, we’ll begin the work — at your pace, in your way — using the tools and support that best fit your journey.

Gentle reflections, practical tools, and honest stories about healing, growth, and real life.
